Hi All!

I guess I have been on a creative bent of late, I just did a new version of a style of earrings I came up with last year -- I am calling this style "Trois" French for 3 since there are 3 colors involved -- garnet, pearl and carnelian.

I had originally made this design with amethyst, pearl and peridot with an amethyst drop. Those are my favs.. and I wear them.. ALOT...

Hi Guys,

I finished these late last night.  They are made from 18G sterling silver wire that I form and pounded into the freeform shapes.  These earrings feature black and white freshwater pearls and iolite.  These earrings measure 2.75 inches from the earhooks down.

Hi All,

I had a productive day yesterday, I accompanied my guy on a sketch crawl and while he was sketching I was working on this idea I've had -- another collar necklace I have named "Classique Longue".

Check it out:

Well that was my day yesterday. :)

I have been experimenting with bending and pounding sterling silver wire of various gauges (thicknesses) and I am really enjoying every step of the process.

  • coming up with theshape for the wire
  • creating the shape in wire
  • pounding the wire flat
  • then using that form in a piece

Here are some examples of my work:

These earrings all use a sterling silver wire hand formed piece:

This necklace uses several different sterling wired hand formed pieces:

I have been designing with garnet and freshwater pearls lately. I just like how the they look together.

Check out my latest experiments (note: these are rough snap shots):

This one is made with 1.5mm garnet bead and pear drop freshwater pearl -- the design is called the Dentelle.

The design below is called the Classique and is made with 3.5mm garnet beads and 4.5mm freshwater pearls.

What do you think of these? Please let me know, I crave feedback.

Hi Everyone and welcome to the McClure Designs blog!

On this blog, I will be posting about my up coming events and also about new designs I am working on. Please if you have any design ideas or requests, don't hesitate to contact me.

A little about me, I was born the son of a share cropper... oops.. I was channelling a TV show I used to watch growing up.... Actually, I am just an average jane who loves to make jewelry. I was born and raised in San Francisco (no, really -- natives do exist and I know several -- my mother being one of them) and moved to the east bay in the early '90s.

I got the jewelry making bug from my mother, she used to do everything from macrame to faux stained glass (ahhh the '70s), and from my teen years on I have been creating jewelry here and there. Until one day I decided to give it a go and create and design jewelry professionally.
